Birch Faraday Completes Refinancing with Shawbrook

London

Birch Faraday Capital has secured a new senior debt facility with Shawbrook Healthcare of £12.3 million, with an additional £5.5 million accordion option, through its healthcare platform Care Co Holdings, one of the Group’s core verticals, to support refinancing and continued acquisition-led growth.

The facility provided reflects Shawbrook’s confidence in the strength of the group’s track record, including resilient recurring revenue, high regulatory standards, and an experienced leadership team.

The refinancing supports three businesses within the Birch Faraday group. Mediline Supported Living operates across the North West of England, with a particular focus on Manchester, Wigan, and Merseyside, providing high-quality supported living for adults with complex care needs. Highbury provides supported living and domiciliary care across North Wales and Cheshire, and has built its reputation on a close knit, family run approach that puts long term relationships with the people it supports at the centre of everything it does. Laurus is the group’s property company, responsible for acquiring and developing high-quality supported living facilities across the North West of England to underpin the growth of the wider platform.

Birch Faraday Capital had previously been supported by Together Money and Close Brothers through its earlier stages of growth, and this new facility builds on that foundation as the group enters its next chapter.

Shawbrook Healthcare’s specialist team structured the facility to provide flexible capital as the group scales, without compromising the standard of care and support it delivers. Benjamin Sanders and Stefanie Ioannou led the process for Shawbrook, with Kirk Wicking making the initial introduction. Birch Faraday Capital looks forward to continuing to work closely with the Shawbrook Healthcare team as the group builds on this next phase of growth. Kieran Iyer, Adam Tait, Chris Nelson, Daniel Gianferrari, Megan Davies, Kelsey Hall-Clarke, and Jessica Hampson at JMW provided legal support throughout, working alongside Kay Holmstock, Cyrus Ordoobadi, and Max Allan at Birch Faraday Capital, and Debbie Holme and Pat Foulkes at Mediline.

Commenting on the transaction, Darnell Irozuru, Managing Director of Birch Faraday Capital, said:

“We are pleased with how efficiently this transaction came together, and it was clear from the outset that Shawbrook’s sector expertise made a real difference throughout the process. We are also grateful to Together Money and Close Brothers for their support in getting us to this point.”
