Darnell is the Founder and Managing Partner of Birch Faraday Capital, an operator-led investment firm focused on acquiring and growing profitable UK businesses. With more than a decade of experience across entrepreneurship, acquisitions, capital deployment and operational leadership, he works directly with founders and management teams to support responsible, long-term transitions.
Darnell founded Birch Faraday to provide business owners with a credible succession partner combining disciplined investment capability with hands-on operating experience. He has led platform acquisitions and buy-and-build strategies across healthcare and social care, construction and support services, including the acquisitions of Mediline Supported Living, Highbury Support Services and D&G Builders and Joiners, alongside establishing Laurus Housing Building and Developments. He oversees a multi-company group generating more than £40 million in turnover and works closely with advisors, lenders and institutional partners to structure and fund transactions.
Darnell remains actively involved in governance, leadership development and strategic direction across the portfolio. His experience includes regulated care environments, workforce-intensive businesses, property-backed development and public-sector linked contracting. He focuses on transparent decision-making, practical deal structuring and sustainable value creation that protects culture, service quality and long-term business stability.
